JackRabbit Systems provides a new kind of hotel search engine that is embedded in high-traffic destination websites. The search engine bypasses the GDS by scraping rate and availability information directly from hotel websites and then redirecting users to the hotel to complete their reservations (which users prefer 7:1 compared with booking through an *unnamed* national travel site!)

JackRabbit uses a pay-per-click model similar to Google AdWords. We are averaging 5,000 clicks per day and are growing at approximately 35% per month.

JackRabbit seeks a talented Ruby/Rails developer to write and maintain scraper "recipes" for the individual hotel inventory systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with hpricot, mechanize and Ruby/Rails as well as XML parsing libraries. Applications will be considered for remote/hourly or full-time/on-site positions; rates and salary will depend on experience.
